Why I write reader inserts.

I know that a lot of people don't like reader inserts. They find them stupid, or whatever it is they think. Usually it's because well...the reader is placed into the story, and the nations are not paired with other nations from the series.

But this is why I write them. It's not because they've become popular lately. I'm not in it for popularity at all.

I started reading reader inserts when I had troubles in my relationship, and I desperately needed to feel happy. And when I read a well-written, in character reader insert, I was happy, and I fangirled more than I probably should.

I write reader inserts to make me happy, and to make others besides myself happy. Sure, my inserts could be used as a shipping fanfiction if you think about it. All I needed to do was change minor details. It does bring a smile to my face with a new chapter, that so many people would get excited about what happened in the chapter, wanting more. How different is that from any other fanfictions?

Yes, I'm working on a non-reader insert fanfiction that involves the shipping of two characters, and at the time, I want it on fanfiction.net instead of deviantart, which one would find odd, considering I find the DA community much nicer than fanfiction's.

And, the other day I had decided an amazing plot for a reader insert that would be a new series. They keep coming in my head, and won't stop.

I wish that reader inserts wouldn't be bashed as much, but I know that's a pretty extreme wish.
